"Koshihikari"
With a rich avor and soft texture, Niigata’s Koshihikari is a moderately sticky variety of rice that has become known as perhaps the best rice in Japan.
"Shinnosuke"
Shinnosuke is a newer variety of rice, with a di erent avor than Koshihikari, a larger hardier rice grain than other varieties of rice, and a deeper sweet stickiness.
"Echigo-hime Strawberries"
As they are grown slowly in the the harsh winter's chill, they develop a richer sweet-ness and juiciness.
"Le Lectier Pears"
The seedlings were .rst brought from the Orleans area of France in the early 20th cen-tury. Le Lectier has been called "the Queen of Pears" as it has a rich aroma, sweet .avor and soft texture.
"Edamame (Chamame) Soybeans"
Niigata has the largest cultivation area for Eda-mame soybeans in Japan. In particular, the "Ku-rosaki Chamame" variety is recommend for its delicious umami-rich .avor (originating in the Kurosaki area, the name of this variety is pro-tected under intellectual property rights).
"Niigata Wagyu beef"
Beef cattle are fattened by skilled farmers in a climate with plenty of clean water and fresh air. A densely marbled beef with a rich taste.
