In Japan-North Korean summit meeting, North Korea acknowledged that its agents had kidnapped Japanese citizens. It also has been revealed that Mr.HASUIKE Kaoru, Ms.HASUIKE Yukiko (maiden name was OKUDO), and Ms.SOGA Hitomi are alive in North Korea and on October 15, 2002, those 3 surviving abductees returned to Japan. However, the whereabouts of Ms.YOKOTA Megumi and Ms.SOGA Miyoshi are still unknown.
Niigata Prefectural Police are conducting a thorough investigation to find out the whole truth and whereabouts of other 2 abductees.
We are very much eager to receive any information regarding the matter.
